Taking flavour suggestions from our fans is a longstanding tradition at Ben & Jerry’s so, to mark the arrival of our ice cream Down Under, we launched the search for a fair dinkum Aussie name for one of our chunk busting flavour cone-coctions – malt ice cream with globs of peanut butter cookie dough and a peanut butter swirl.
Over 3,000 Aussies had a crack but, after chewing the cud for many hours back at Ben & Jerry’s HQ, the decision was unanimous... drum roll please...
Rebecca Hewat, a photographer from Melbourne, thought up the name and has turned a feathery Australian dream into a sweet reality. It’s a real beaut which we’re proud to line up against other iconic Ben & Jerry’s flavour names in our Manly scoop shop.
And there’s a double dollop of goodness in store for the Manly community because $1 for every scoop of Peanut Cookie-burra Dough sold will be donated to our friends at Mission Australia to help see a fairer Australia by enabling people in need to find pathways to a better life. What a ripper!
But we couldn’t let the cow tail end there so here’s some other fair dinkum entries...
- The Great Aussie Bite
- Peanut Butter Tucker
- Didgeridough
- Gone Walkabutter
- She’ll Be Right, Malt!
And for those musical types...
- Waltzing Nutilda
- Cookie Butter sits in the old gum tree
- Give me a Cone Amongst the Gumtrees
- I Crunch from a Land Down Nutter
- Peanut Peanut Butter Oi Oi Oi
Thanks to all of you for giving it a whirl!
